Honoring our Past by Improving the Future of Others
Our Story
Joanie Williams 1957-2022
Joanie Williams passed away October 27, 2022 after a brave 27-month battle against glioblastoma branch cancer. She had been the Delta Region Volleyball registrar and office manager since 2004, overseeing the growth of the Region from 1,200 to 9,000 members in three states.
Her lifelong dedication to the sport of vollleyball is being honored through PlayForJoanie.org to create scholarship opportunities for volleyball athletes across Arkansas, Mississippi and western Tennessee.
BUILDING A SCHOLARSHIP FUND
People asked "What can we do to help honor Joanie's memory?"

Here is your chance to make an impact on the lives of young athletes. As the PlayForJoanie fund accumulates funds, an independent board will be convened to disburse funds to USA Volleyball athletes in the Delta Region based on a stringent application process.
Joanie created the idea of the Delta Region High Performance program, which introduced local players to dozens of college coaches, who subsequently recruited many of them for college volleyball programs.
The HP program has been on hiatus since 2019, but will be resurrected in early June 2024.
